Broadbeach has two firework shows this New Year’s Eve, one at 8pm and the other at midnight. Kurrawa Park will be the place to watch these spectacular firework displays and there will be live entertainment on the Broadbeach Mall stage. Bring your family and friends to Broadbeach to welcome on the New Year.
Surfers Paradise is the place to be on New Years’ where you can view the largest firework displays in Queensland. This year there will be a Carnival on from 3pm till 10pm on the Surfers Paradise Foreshore. This is inclusive of food stalls and rides. Fireworks take place at 8pm and midnight.
Sky Point Observation Deck at Q1 is another perfect place to catch the fireworks. Enjoy views of the Surfers Paradise firework show with entertainment, delicious canapes and desserts as well as a photo booth. Open 31st December, 2019 from 7.30pm until 1am. Definitely an unforgettable way to bring on the New Year.
Sunshine Coast
Caloundra – Bring the family to New Year’s Eve at Kings Beach Caloundra. A fantastic family affair. Children’s rides, food stalls, fireworks, music, dance, face painting and heaps of fun things to do. The movie – Ferdinand (PG) screens from 7pm and fireworks at 9.30pm.
Mooloolaba Esplanade a free family-friendly event that you would not want to miss. This annual event attracts many international tourists, families on holidays and locals. There’s live entertainment and performances as well as fun activities for the whole family.
Brisbane
South Bank Parklands is the place to view South Banks New Year’s fireworks. There’s the two firework displays with the 8.30pm show most preferred for families with children rather than the midnight show which is mostly for the late goers. Be sure to get there early to secure your spot in the park. There will be food truck vendors to cure your hunger, live music to keep you entertained in the lead up to the fireworks as well as competitions and prizes.
Eagle Street Pier is a great place to watch the South Bank fireworks. Eating a delicious meal from the variety of restaurants along the pier including ARIA, Mr & Mrs G Riverbar, Nagomi, Sake, Cha Cha Char and many more, while watching the fireworks seems like a relaxing way to welcome the New Year.
Mt. Coot-tha lookout is a favourite local and tourist destination to enjoy panoramic views of Brisbane. This is one of the most breathtaking spots to watch the New Year’s fireworks. You can even enjoy a lovely meal at either the Kuta Café of the Summit Restaurant, however bookings will be necessary on this busy night. If you are looking for a picturesque New Year’s then this is the place.
Kookaburra Showboat Cruises is another fantastic way to enjoy the South Bank fireworks. Departing from Eagle Street Pier at 8.40pm, you will be able to experience uninterrupted views of the firework show from the Brisbane River. This cruise includes a tasty buffet including seafood as well as magnificent live entertainment. Bookings are essential.
